Christian movie fans are always excited about the latest Christian movie, but the new movie from writer/director Chris Noren and producer Chris Menges is a bit disappointing for a number of reasons. It seems that the movie is trying to be like the movie that has all the cool Christian movies on it, but it doesn’t have a lot of those movies. For starters, it is not a Christian movie. It is, however, a movie about Christian sports.
The movie is called “Basketball Movie”, and it is about an athletic prodigy who has a very successful college career and then goes on to become a professional basketball player and a World Class Athlete. His parents are against him having a career in basketball, but he really wants to, so they are forced to let him go to college.
The movie is about a man who has the talent to be an elite athlete, yet he has a severe personality disorder. It’s been a while since I last watched it, but I remember it being somewhat entertaining. It’s a bit dated and there were a couple of movies that had them playing the role of a pro athlete that had been popular in the past (Leverkusen, for example).
